Event Highlights

Every student and Cooke family has a unique story about how they found Cooke and how it impacted their lives. During this 45 minute event, you’ll hear from special guest parents who share their stories and successes, watch lively student videos and have an opportunity to make a donation.

Event Focus

Everything we do at Cooke is to benefit our students’ futures. This event celebrates our legacy of excellence in education and raises funds to support future successes we strive to achieve. Most importantly, your support helps provide outstanding programming for all students, no matter their financial circumstances.

HONOREE

Julia Tung   |  Cooke Parent and Board Member

Recently appointed board member Julia Tung has been part of the Cooke community since 2016 when her eldest daughter, Marlena, joined Cooke as a middle schooler. Julia, who has a background in statistics, and worked at Moody’s Investors Service for more than a decade, left her work in finance to stay home with her children. As Marlena began to flourish at Cooke, developing better communication skills, managing emotions and learning to advocate for herself, Julia knew she had found a school that recognized her daughter’s potential and fostered its development.

Julia has been eager to be involved at Cooke including attending parent support groups and transition workshops and volunteering at book fairs, all of which paved the way for her to take a leadership role on Cooke’s board. Luckily for Cooke, Julia became involved in Cooke’s parent support groups, paving the way to take a leadership role on Cooke’s board. At every turn, Julia (and her whole family) have been supportive of Cooke’s inclusive environment and mission to engender independence and confidence in its student body. On more than one occasion, when asked to serve or support Cooke, Julia has always replied with: “I would never say ‘no’ to Cooke.” We honor her (and her family) for promoting a “can-do” attitude, recognizing Cooke’s unique perspective on inclusive education, and rolling up her sleeves to serve on the board to improve the educational outcomes of the next generation of Cooke students.

As we celebrate our 35th anniversary and look forward to moving our K-12 community to the new school building, Julia is eager to leverage these new facility offerings to unify the Cooke campus. Through her experience as a Cooke parent and her deep understanding of the benefits of a Cooke education, Julia’s leadership and dedication to service will enrich Cooke programming, forging new pathways to success for our diverse community of learners.
