Today, we celebrate our 30th anniversary and as I reflect on the last three decades, I am reminded that through the perseverance of our founding families, the expertise and dedication of our superb staff and faculty and the continued support of our loyal donors, Cooke opened its doors and we have been moving forward ever since.
Cooke has always been more than a school. It is a solid foundation on which families have found caring support and hope for their children’s future. It is a consistent presence that remains with our students from Kindergarten through life.
Over the years we grew from one small classroom of seven children to an organization that has served thousands of New York City students with special needs, and their families.
We have stayed true to our commitment to serve any child that can benefit from a Cooke education, regardless of their socio-economic status. We pride ourselves in being the only private education provider with this level of commitment to all children with special needs.
From the beginning we have educated children with a broad spectrum of abilities and continually work to ensure that our curriculum and programs are academically rigorous, yet fit the varying skill levels of our students. As a result we have happy, well-adjusted children who have friends and are a part of a community that cares deeply for them.
This is what 30 years looks like – hard work, achievements and endless possibilities. I am grateful to all who have played a role in making Cooke the place it is today and I see a bright future ahead.
Happy Anniversary!
