Health Update Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Please note: In compliance with the Department of Health, Cooke School buildings will be closed while conducting virtual classes through August 15, 2020. We remain committed to supporting our students’ education and we will continue to initiate virtual learning plans for the duration of the school closure. Be safe and be well!
Maintain consistent communication with the school leader and teachers
Debrief after service delivery.
Reflect and refine goals informed by data.
Support parents/guardians as co-educators.
Help teachers to support families to prepare, maintain, and revise a flexible and conducive learning environment at home in a manner that supports individual learning and developmental needs.
Support teachers to leverage multiple forms of assessment and data.
Encourage and help develop assessments that allow students to demonstrate their knowledge in different and varied ways.
Analyze data to inform effective instruction that meets students’ needs.
Support teachers to deliver instruction implementing evidence based best practices and inclusive of all students’ needs.
Rehearse and help teachers create in-person lessons, or videos for asynchronous lessons and activities, through the lens of optimizing remote learning and engagement for children with diverse and unique needs.
Model and/or co-teach during in-person instruction or synchronous instruction that help teachers facilitate whole class, small group and individualized instruction while increasing student engagement. Observe, collaboratively reflect and offer feedback on instruction to inform the next steps.
Support teachers to design classrooms that foster positive and meaningful relationships, interactions, engagement, and inclusion.
Co-plan and design innovative instruction that is research-based and that scaffolds, differentiates, and individualizes activities to meet all students’ needs.
Embed innovative use of technology in a manner that increases student engagement and interaction
Identify and explore resources and activities that support students’ diverse and unique needs and that provide equitable access for all students
As educators, you are faced each day with the joy and challenge of meeting your students’ unique learning needs across the curriculum and elevating student outcomes. Working alongside your staff, Cooke Institute consultants collaborate with you to identify your literacy, math, and / or special education needs. Cooke consultants work 1:1 with your teachers to build the capacity to bring the diverse needs of all learners to the forefront of their teaching, including culturally and linguistically diverse students, students with IEPs and students at-risk for low academic achievement.
