Updated Travel & Exposure Advisory
We have appreciated your flexibility with all the changes COVID-19 has brought in the past year. We look forward to better times in the near future. With that, Cooke has now updated its travel and exposure advisory; please read carefully and contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
In order to continue to keep our staff and students safe, Cooke School and Institute has updated its travel and exposure advisory effective immediately.
- Updated Travel and Exposure Advisory—for Those Who Have Been Vaccinated (or Tested Positive for COVID-19 in the past 3 months)
TRAVEL: Cooke will no longer require 2 negative Covid-19 tests if that individual has been vaccinated or tested positive for COVID-19 in the past three (3) months.
EXPOSURE : Consistent with recent CDC guidance, asymptomatic individuals who have been fully vaccinated do not need to quarantine during the first 3 months after full vaccination, if the following criteria are met:
- Are fully vaccinated (i.e., ≥2 weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or ≥2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine) AND
- Are within 3 months following receipt of the last dose in the series; AND
- Have remained asymptomatic since last COVID-19 exposure.
Proof of vaccination must be uploaded to the SmartVault.

2) Updated Travel and Exposure Advisory for Those Who HAVE NOT Been Vaccinated
TRAVEL: All travelers (who have NOT been vaccinated) entering New York from a state that is not a contiguous state who have been outside of New York for more than 24 hours must:
- Complete the Traveler Health Form.
- Obtain a COVID-19 test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
Upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
- Obtain another COVID-19 test on day 4 of their quarantine.
If both tests come back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test. Proof of negative tests must be uploaded to the SmartVault. Travelers who do not obtain a test prior to arrival in New York and/or on the 4th day in New York, must quarantine for 10 days. This time will be deducted from your PTO time.
EXPOSURE: Individuals who do not meet all 3 of the above criteria and who have been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 are required to quarantine for 14 days after exposure, or ten days if they meet the criteria for a reduced quarantine. Consistent with previous CDC guidance, there is no testing requirement to end the quarantine if no symptoms have been reported during the quarantine period. However, a test should be sought immediately if any symptoms develop during the 14 days after exposure.
There are a few exceptions to the updated policy, so please read the full document here and contact me with any questions.
Did You Receive Your Second COVID-19 Vaccine Shot?
Thank you to those of you who have already uploaded your COVID-19 test results and/or vaccine cards. Moving forward, the name of the folder has changed (same folder, just new name.)
For those of you who have not uploaded your test results and vaccine cards yet, or have tried and received an error message stating “denied access,” please read on.
Please go to the link HERE to upload your screenshots, documents, etc.
Once you are there, please enter your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, click “Can’t Sign In.” You may then create a new password.
Once you have logged in, you will click on the folder named Staff Uploads (HR)—this was previously named HR Uploads. Staff Uploads (HR) is where you upload all of your personal documents. If you attempt to access any other folder, you will receive a “Denied Access” message.
If you need further assistance, please contact Elizabeth Santiso at: esantiso@cookeschool.org

Sharing our Stories
The move to online learning has been a challenge for many students, but it has also been an opportunity for others. As Cooke continues our collaboration with Fordham PDRC (Professional Development Resource Center for Religious and Independent Schools), Mary Clancy (Associate Head of School) has been invited to contribute and help lead the conversation: Stories of Success of Students Receiving Special Education Services during a Chat & Network event on April 13. More details will come about this event!
Congratulations Are In Order!
The Finance Department is pleased to announce its newest member, Vanessa Krigger, who has accepted the position of Assistant Director of Accounting.
As the Assistant Director, she will take over some of the day-to-day operations of the department as well as spearhead various special projects. In addition, she will work on replacing herself as Payroll Manager and train the new person once hired. We are thrilled and delighted to have her aboard!
