Cooke Transitions

Vocational program for ages 18 to 21 (formerly SKILLs)

Cooke Transitions (formerly SKILLs) is a program designed for 18 to 21-year-old students to round out their academic, social, and life skills as they transition from high school to adulthood. Located in New York City and close to all mass transit, Cooke Transitions offers continued academics in core subject areas. Using NYC as their living classrooms, students take advantage of visits to public libraries, parks, museums, gyms and recreational centers as part of the program’s extensive off-site educational programming.

Cooke Transitions helps young adults develop independence through community inclusion and real-world vocational opportunities:

  • Life skill courses (cooking, travel, apartment living)
  • Vocational training
  • Academic experiences
  • Volunteering and paid Internships

An active Cooke Alumni Association offers recreational opportunities, ongoing support and continuing education to Cooke graduates. Learn more about Cooke’s Alumni Program.
