Earlier this year, Cooke committed to a two-year partnership with Bank Street’s Center on Culture, Race, and Equity (CCRE) to begin a process of examining Cooke’s beliefs, behaviors and practices, so that our students and staff, of all backgrounds, have optimal opportunities to grow and thrive. Cooke staff and faculty has begun to participate in workshop sessions, facilitated by CCRE, and grounded in culturally responsive-sustaining practices and designed with a racial equity lens. We will continue to work for change and advocacy for our students, our communities and our city.

Face masks are an effective tool utilized for preventing the spread of disease and germs. If someone talks, coughs, or sneezes and has symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19 (coronavirus) or other viruses and infection, they may release tiny drops into the air that can infect others. If a face mask is worn, it can reduce the number of germs released into the air and can protect other people from becoming sick. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), advises the general public to wear cloth face coverings to prevent the spread of disease.
BUILDING FUTURES
So many people have given their time, talents and support to make our new school building a possibility! Check out these photos of our students visiting the construction site of our new school to get a sense of the excitement they feel for what’s to come.
Our students plan to enjoy all that the new building has to offer: playing hoops in the gym, baking in the daily living labs, taking the elevator and hanging out with friends. We all look forward to seeing this happen soon!
