Internship Program
Cooke School and Institute, a nonprofit provider of special education services in New York City, offers Upper School and Transitions students (ages 14-21), internship opportunities as a required part of the curriculum.
Cooke Internships help our students to:
-
Provide students with valuable work experience, enabling them to navigate professional work environments and maintain their independence through employment.
-
Enable students to apply the soft skills that they have learned at Cooke to obtain and maintain employment. This empowers them to join the workforce and demonstrate confidence in communicating and advocating for themselves.
Get Involved
The Cooke Internship Program collaborates with private and public sector employers to offer our students valuable internship opportunities. Corporations and organizations (large and small) have benefited from opening their doors to Cooke students. Students are paired with job sites that match their strengths and interests, giving them the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the organization.
